With a small investment of $100 or $250 or $500…you can have your name or your company’s name engraved in a 2x 4 inch Gold-Silver or Bronze metal plate and posted on the school’s Legacy Wall. You have the option of having the school named in your honor by sponsoring the entire trip for a small investment of $50,000.00 dollars. Grace Mission Academy is located in Agona Swedru, Central Region -West Africa, Ghana was the site selected by Dr. Isom and her team. Our trip birth’s the new school, and the initial set up of the Eco-TECH computer lab. We will visit the community at least twice a year to ensure ongoing support and success and make sure everything is operational. We propose that school and lab set-up can take up to ten days if all goes well. This process includes school set up, installation of lab, initial teacher training, student workshops, and a community engaged dedication ceremony.

Depending on the infrastructure in place at the village, and specific needs at the site, setting up a staffed and operational school and computer lab easily costs $50,000 a year or more. Birthing a school and computer lab requires planning, staffing, installation of equipment and more. This will include everything from outfitting the school, the computers, to shipping, set-up, and ongoing training and technical support for a year.

To ensure that things run smoothly, replacing or upgrading equipment will require ongoing support. By the third year, the school and EcoTECH computer lab should be operated by community leaders and instructors. Since many of the remote areas do not have easy internet access, a critical piece of the installation will be a hard drive filled with downloadable data. Hotspots will be used to provide internet-like experience for students on the networked computers or laptops. In the future, a pen pal exchange with youth using SKPYE will eventually be implemented so youth from the academy can community with youth from Eco-TECH labs in America for an exchange of culture.
